My late green hammer coral

This is a picture of my late green hammer coral. Unfortunately, it dies after the demise of the Goniopora (probably get infected by the same disease).

Aristotle

The above is our new dog - "Aristotle" - shortened to just "Totle". He's one years old Shetland Sheepdog, very cute and adorable and look very serious, until he decided that he wants to play with you and run around like speeding bullet. (Actually he's not that fast, it's just my exageration). He's the new addition to our household and actually quite fun to have around especially the first few minutes of greeting when we just get back home.

Below is another addition to our household. Liana's sister, Mira who came to Singapore to study.

MacRitchie Reservoir

Peaceful and calm scenery at Singapore MacRitchie Reservoir. Went there yesterday during Vesak day and hike all the way to HSBC Treetop Walk. I think we end up walking around 6-8 km. The pic above is one of the better shots. I'll post some of the rest later.

Tapir in Impressionist

Took this shoot couple of weeks ago at Singapore Night Safari. As flash photography is not allowed in there and it's really dark even though it was a full moon, most of my pictures came up blurrish due to the shake/movement. Even ISO 1600 with a F2.8 lens is not enough.

Some of the blur turned out to be quite interesting, as in the above pictures, which makes the picture as if it was painted by some Impressionist painters. It reminds me of paintings by Renoir or Monet. My theory is that the movement caused by the tram together with my hand movement result in criss-crossed pattern.

You looking at me?

Today I'm quite lucky. I found this fellow posing for few seconds for me, just enough for me to point my camera with +4 close up filter, focus and snap a few shots. But none of the shots are crispy sharp. All of them has this dreamy soft focus look. I guess since I'm using a el-cheapo second hand auction-bought single element close up filter the result can't be as sharp. But then again, it could be my skill as well.

Anyway, enjoy the pic and remember to wash your hand before meals.

Flower and Bee

I went to Alexandra Hospital Butterfly Trail today just to find this cute little fellow circling around, so I try to capture it using my KM D7D with KM 100-300 F4.5-5.6. After numerous attempt under blistering sun, this is the one that capture the bee in the sharpest. It's not as sharp as I wanted to be, but I may be able to do better next time.

Things that is done right:
- Patience, patience and patience
- Prefocus, since there is no way the AF can follow this litte fella (at least not my lens)

Things that should have been done:
- Use shutter priority or manual mode to capture the bee in its sharpest. Using aperture priority does make the DOF acceptable, but the fast movement cause the blur bee.
